ANZAC Day Tours for 2017 itineraries and prices are now up and ready !!
Trooper Tours -The August offensive saw the heaviest fighting of the Gallipoli campaign. It was one last attempt to break out of the deadlock that the campaign had fallen into.
An integral part of the August offensive was an attack on heavily fortified Turkish trenches at an area known as 'Lone Pine'.
It became known as 'The Battle of Lone Pine'. The Turkish positions were considered 'untenable', impossible to capture but the attack was considered necessary to draw any Turkish reserves in the vacinity down onto Lone Pine and away from the key objective, a set of hills, known as 'the heights'.
The Australian government recently announced that they will be holding a special service at Lone Pine Australian Memorial in 2015 for the 100th anniversary of 'The Battle of Lone Pine'. http://minister.dva.gov.au/media_releases/2014/mar/va019.htm
We have put together a set of tours which encompass this ceremony. To these we have added a tour in which we will be at Gallipoli on the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month in 2015, to commemorate Remembrance Day.
